INTRODUCING:
CITY RIVER HYBRID
ONLINE & IN PERSON
On June 24, 2020, Toronto joined the majority of Ontario in entering Phase 2 of the Province’s reopening plan. Phase 2 includes the easing of a number of restrictions put in place to limit the spread of COVID-19, and includes specific directions regarding the reopening of Places of Worship, including Church buildings. Under the Government’s Phase 2 guidelines, churches are now permitted to reopen at 30% capacity, while adhering to specific and very strict guidelines. Of note, under Phase 2, churches are strongly urged to eliminate any form of congregational or choir singing, and are required to adhere to recordkeeping requirements and distancing protocols with any individuals who enter the building, all while only allowing for 30% attendance of the building’s capacity. Additionally, as of July 7, 2020, the City of Toronto will require masks or face coverings to be worn in all enclosed public spaces, including churches.
After prayerful reflection, and consideration of the recommendations of our churches’ governing bodies, as well as, our building size, the number of individuals regularly in attendance at our services and activities, the style of our worship services, and our desire to maintain a larger sense of community, we have decided, that for the time being, all City River services and in-person activities will continue to be held online. A small number of those who help organize and deliver our Sunday Service - Online will begin to do so from the church building, while complying with the requirements and recommendations of governmental and medical authorities.
We continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates as further decisions are made. We pray that we will be able to meet together in person again soon.
